Watching sunrise from Phousi Mountain

We decided to start our first morning in Luang Prabang by climbing the 328 steps up to the top of Phou Si mountain (a relatively short 324 foot high rock) in order to see the sunrise. Mount Phousi is at the centre of the old town opposite the National Museum.

View from Luang Pragang holy mountain.

You can see 360 degree view of Luang Prabang. Great views of Khan River on one side and Mekong River on the other.

Offerings at the shrine outside the Wat That Chomsi (on the of the mountain).
