VIIV 2012

23rd Anniversary of Tiananmen Square protests. Every year there is a candlelight vigil held at the Victoria Park. This year it was attended by about 180000 people (according to HK news). Thousands sat and stood around the park. It was truly a beautiful sight. There were lots of young people and families as well.

It was not easy to find any information online in English about the vigil. All I could find were a few blog posts from previous years and some photos so I was surprised at how widely attended it was. Causeway Bay area shops and restaurants were unusually quiet. Most of the people were here.
