Mt Fuji from Tokyo

It was our third visit to Japan and for the first time we were able to see Mt.Fuji from Tokyo. To be more specific: from our hotel room. We were told that, on a clear day, Fuji-san is visible from Tokyo but didn’t really believe it. On our first visit we had stopped over in Hakone, a town right next to the 3700m volcano, to catch a glimpse and saw nothing but mist and fog.

We came back to our hotel room late in the afternoon after a long day of sight-seeing and there it was basking in a beautiful sunset.

Distance? About 100km.

Mt Fuji (3776m)

It was lovely to see Fuji-san from the comfort of our hotel room a year after having climbed it.
