Ever since I was a kid it was a family tradition to go into Gorce Mountains during summer. Gorce is a region of the Carpathian mountains in Southern Poland. Only 50km north from Tatras. We met up with other family members at the Gorc base and stayed there for up to a week, camped out in the tents, ate whatever we dragged up the mountain, collected and stuffed ourselves with forest blueberries (until our hands and mouths turned purple) and each evening sat the by bonfire. I have lovely memories.
I went back this summer. Back to the Gorc base. My first time in many years.
